At Whereisthis, we believe in the power of Social-First, Creator-Led, authentic storytelling that transports audiences and connects deeply with real experiences.
The Whereisthis Featured Creators aims to recognize and reward outstanding Creators who bring emotion, craft, and authenticity into their work.
Our goal is to grow the Whereisthis community in line with our ethos: bold Creators, real stories, and work that moves people.
This is more than a feature moment, it’s a talent pipeline. Standout submissions may be invited to join the Whereisthis Community and considered first for future paid creator briefs and commissioned projects.
This opportunity is open to all Creators, not just members of the Whereisthis community.

How It Works
7 features 1 winner !
- Submit one of your pieces of content, related to travel and/or tourism and/or leisure and/or hospitality
- It may be content specifically created for this or something previously edited and even posted on your platform
- It may not be something already posted on @whereisthisofficial
- Submissions will be open for 3 weeks
- Submissions will be evaluated by our team based on visual quality of content, editing, storytelling and emotional impact (“did we get the goosebumps”)
- Whereisthis will select 7 Edits and feature one daily on the @Whereisthisofficial Instagram account
- Not selected this round? Some submissions may still be shortlisted for future Featured Creators rounds (and/or paid briefs), and we may reach out later
- Each Featured Creator will be tagged and their caption embedded in the post
- The Creator will be invited to collaborate on the post and may do so if he/she so wishes
- Public voting will begin on day 8 and will last one week
- Whereisthis will publish stories relating to the Featured Creators and tag them
- Featured Creators are encouraged to share the stories and featured edit with their friends to increase chances of winning
- Whereisthis wishes to give each Featured Creator an equal chance to win regardless of the number of followers they have. Votes will therefore be weighted according to the number of followers each Featured Creator has. As an example, a Creator with 1,000 followers will get 10 points per vote whereas a Creator with 10,000 followers will get 1 point per vote
- Only one vote per account will be counted. Duplicate/spam votes will be removed. Weighting is calculated using follower count as of day 1 of voting
- Once voting is concluded, whereisthis will announce the winner within 72 hours
This is a recurring series; we will run multiple Featured Creators rounds throughout the year

Submission Criteria
Your submitted edit must meet the following criteria:
- Authentic, real, relatable storytelling
- 45 to 90 seconds in length
- May be landscape or portrait, though we encourage landscape
- Free of third-party rights and third-party visible branding or logos
- Complete with Voice over, music and SFX
- Fully graded
- Subtitles, captions, and supers should be included where appropriate
- 4K at 30fps
- The caption must tell a compelling story and provide relevant information
- If submitting a carousel, must be an even mix of 8 to 10 pages, with same specs as above and 3:4 (1080×1440) or 1.91:1 1080×566)

Submission Format
You may enter your submission via a shared drive link (onedrive, dropbox, etc) as follows:
- In a clearly marked folder which must include your full name and Instagram handle
- A caption text you wish for us to include when posting
- 3 options of cover images in 9:16 (1080×1920)
- If submitting a carousel, in a folder with pages numbered in the order you would like them posted, with the first page being a photo
Copyrights
- You must own all rights to the content submitted
- If selected, you agree for the content to be posted on the Whereisthis platform
- Whereisthis reserves the right to use the content in digital marketing, reels, or promotional features (with full credit to the Creator)

Yes. Your submission can be a previously posted piece of content, as long as it has not been posted before on @whereisthisofficial.
Absolutely. You are encouraged to produce a brand-new edit tailored for this.
It must however be related to travel and/or tourism and/or leisure and/or hospitality
We are looking for emotionally powerful, story-driven visual edits that feel authentic and human. Travel, culture, people, and real experiences tend to resonate strongly with our audience.
Your edit must be between 45 and 90 seconds in length.
Landscape is encouraged, but portrait format is also accepted.
Your video must be delivered in:
- 4K resolution
- 30fps
- Fully graded
- With voiceover, music, and sound design
- Subtitles/captions where appropriate
- .Mp4 (H264/H265).
No. Videos must be free of visible third-party branding, logos, or copyrighted material you do not own the rights to.
Your folder must include:
- Your video edit
- A caption you would like us to publish with the post
- 3 vertical cover image options
- Your full name and Instagram handle in the folder name
Our internal team selects 7 edits based on:
- Visual quality
- Editing craft
- Storytelling strength
- Emotional impact
Once the 7 selected films are featured, public voting opens for one week.
To give all Creators a fair chance regardless of audience size, votes are weighted based on follower count.
Example: A Creator with 1,000 followers earns 10 more points per vote than a Creator with 10,000 followers.
Voting will take place on our Instagram account @whereisthisofficial.
Participants will be able to vote by commenting “Vote” on the relevant post.
Yes! Selected Creators are encouraged to share their feature and rally their community to vote.
The winner will receive:
- USD 1,000 cash prize
- A winner feature post on @whereisthisofficial
- Story features introducing them and their work to the Whereisthis audience
- Possibly a seat on the Whereisthis Community
The winner will be announced within 72 hours after the voting period ends.
Yes. You retain ownership of your content. However, by submitting, you grant Whereisthis the right to publish and use the content for digital and promotional purposes, always with credit.
If selected, Whereisthis may use your film in digital marketing, reels, and promotional features, always with full Creator credit.
Whereisthis will not however sell your content or use it to promote third parties.
Payment will be made after the winner submits an invoice with the correct details. Instructions will be sent by email after the announcement.
The submissions are open for 3 weeks from the moment they are announced and the official deadline will be announced on Instagram on @Whereisthisofficial
One entry per round. We will run multiple rounds, and you’re welcome to submit once per round.
Yes, we’re open to AI when it’s used as a tool to assist your creativity and enhance your output (e.g., ideation, scripting support, audio cleanup, upscaling, color workflow support, transitions, visual effects, and other post-production enhancements). What matters is that the submission remains your original creative work, you own the rights to what you submit, and AI is not used to copy others, misrepresent reality in a misleading way, or infringe third-party rights.
Disclosure: If you used AI at any stage, you must tell us what tools were used and where they were used (e.g., “AI used for voice cleanup,” “AI-generated transition at 00:22,” “AI-assisted VFX in shots 5–7”). Please include this in your submission email and/or in a short note inside your submission folder titled “AI Disclosure.”
